Delhi Belly Movie Review | Delhi Belly Music Review | Delhi Belly Wallpaper

Delhi Belly Movie
An American Jewish woman many years ago, I was surprised when I said that as a teenager in India, mother Woody Allen [Images] for the Annie Hall [Images] was looking and I found the film very funny. He was amazed about how to make the film, Oscar Winner - New York Comedy - Mother's can display information such as when Diane Keaton [Images] is an order of mayonnaise on white bread, pastrami. I learned from Jewish tradition, the pastrami on rye bread to be eaten with mustard.

I have also learned of humor, is specific to culture and age. Humor may be wise. I live in New York, I admired and learned of Allen's films and the micro used pedasamanthi. And humor can be smart. Michael Winterbottom find new Mother exceptionally clever and witty, laced with sadness of the trip. Slapstick comedy works with large audiences, though usually not with me. My favorite - - but then I bump into the theater when stressed out (Fairuza mother in Cameron Crowe Almost balk) laugh or (overweight Cyrus Broacha [Images] in D Krishna Raj mother Nidimoru and 99), or electric poles Letters to the walls was a fish called Wanda, while Michael Palin teriyarsa mother is accidentally killed one of three Yorkshire!
On the whole, Delhi Belly, a ground - breaking and innovative comic caper is targeted at young brigade. Shameless people, dirty and hatred can be exploited with the language, in fact, it is strictly moral man or not for purists. Bailey is a strong appetite for an adult comedy, and cuss words. His wittiness you dazed and amazed. Hinglish version I've seen, but I explained that the Hindi film is so effective that it makes you speechless. Finally, the Delhi belly of the time, mainly because the film, a film that is incredibly strong in unused and Pierce for a new mountain, in a pioneering work. This flawless, super chartbusting music with racy performance and script all the way to score a winner.

Delhi Belly is a smart, crazy, crazy as a production that is almost comical - if more than 20 comedy - and maybe something like 30 - some public school educated, English speaking, larger target audience through the film to video preview is likely to appeal to the playful songs. actors.

Quirky is the new cool. His next film Delhi Belly, Aamir Khan blejhinga marketing of guns. The film was directed by God, and the acting is promoted as an edgy comedy. As far as the soundtrack, the music director Ram Sampath (khaki, the end of love, nodiflora 'Mehengai Daayan' live songs) and lyricist Amitabh (Dev D, plane, no one killed Jessica) Bhattacharya, with great a platoon for a year so far this album seems to have the most fun! Soundtrack makes no pretense of Delhi Belly. Sometimes it can be weird and stupid is what you can and it is Mother Earth. Here are my favorite summer albums.

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon | Transformers 3 Review

Transformers 3
See the latest Transformers movie today, two splosions role, and the launch, I am lucky enough to catch a screening of the movie last night!

I was only the first and second Transformersmovies (2007 and 2009) were low, but we are not fare as well as other critics.

'Dark Moon' solid Popcorn Flick, and two of three of the Transformers' is a great ending.
Optimus is a real bad - I (a 30 minute epic film) is a good mother, but Sam and welcome to see the true character of worn out. Hopefully in a few years around the reboot, we need to work with the Transformers in cultured human characters.
This 3D movie was the best - certainly it is an additional $ 3, or pay for. The film is very old friend of Sam's mother, Josh ("Life as We Know It") Duhamel, Jon ("2 car") Turturro, an actor or a small role, Tyrese Gibson as a military commander as ("Fast Five") is , Decepticons as Patrick (TV Mom "Mother Mother Grey Anatomy") is a friend of his mother as a person interested in Sam, Dempsey and the man is not the evil Decepticons. Francis ("Burn After Reading"), a top government official McDormand; addition, bizarre, and John Malkovich (the mother company, the new owner of a strange connection to the computer (2 "hangover"), Ken Jeong Decepticons VP Office for the mother) is a "secretariat" of the example. Listers, I was surprised to see many of the film, and if their parts are small (especially compared to the mother LaBeouf), who all had their role very well.

Also, if your children are planning to see this movie, I would seriously think twice. Mom thought this film was very violent time, human beings face in some shots that I used to get caught in the Crossfire. So the 5 years before taking a careful look.

Telugu film review: 180 is emotional torture

180 Movie Review
180 is two and a half hours of emotional torture that is so brutally assaultive in its determination to extort sympathy from viewers that it practically leaps off the screen and into their laps in order to get to it. This film is completely contrived and uneven; by the end we are screaming to yank our eyes and ears away from all that overtly dramatic music, glycerin tears, the super sensitive subject choice and the crushing lack of sensibility. Siddharth’s heartfelt performance and the exquisite cinematography can't redeem the dramatic fallacies surrounding this mess.

Mind you, 180 has a rather intriguing first act, but by the end it just left me mourning the movie that might have been. The idea of a young character facing death can’t help but be compelling in a way, but director Sarma and his writing collaborator Umarji Anuradha aren’t satisfied with telling the story in a clean and straightforward manner. Instead, they adopt a structure that tells the story from the shifting memories of the central character, (though on close inspection it’s a technique they ignore as often as they follow it).

A stranger who calls himself Ajay (Siddharth) arrives in Kasi on a spiritual journey. After a super duper ultra slow motion bath in the river, he moves to Hyderabad and stays as a paying guest with an elderly couple (Mouli and Geetha). Ajay indulges in weird things like selling moong falli on the streets, helping slum kids deliver newspapers and standing up for the common man. Photo journalist Vidya (Menen) is smitten by Ajay’s saintly attitude, and she wastes no time in expressing her feelings for him. Ajay, who hides a traumatic past, rejects her and suddenly leaves the city – it’s when Jayendra pulls the rug from under our feet by involving one of the characters in a terrible accident. The frightening escalation of Ajay’s past is glimpsed in vivid flashbacks, but the result is a laughable jumble.

Moreover, Jayendra and Anuradha ratchet up the mawkish quotient mercilessly. It’s not simply that they go for the jugular in scenes like the inevitable one where the hero wants to make one last visit to his lady love. It’s that they ladle on the plot holes with grotesque profusion. A character who suffers from a broken spine is shifted from Hyderabad to San Francisco for an emergency surgery. Another sees death – which is portrayed as a sidey black man wearing trench coats and carrying ropes. And while a patient battles life and death, we’re transported to the romantic flashback between Ajay and Renu (Anand), which includes a picturesque joyous song sequence, then an obligatory sad cameo from Ajay’s mother who dies, which is almost immediately followed by a wedding and another romantic number.

Tonal inconsistencies be damned, 180 suffers from sheer sloppiness of script that results in scenes of comedic frivolity. The dramatic turns in the second half are so conceptually off-kilter that they really succeed as unintentional hilarity. A prime example of the latter would be a scene where ‘Death’ (the black dude) stands on a flowing river, and points and laughs. Not to mention the big reveal – the scene is hysterically overlaid with a dramatic song so as to dampen its persuasive power. It's as if Siddharth had to convince even the filmmakers of his plight.

Priya Anand’s performance — talk about people going overboard in an effort to make an impression. I can understand why she would want to take this role, but her work here is so shrill and overbearing (even beyond the demands of the character) that it just becomes embarrassing. Nithya Menen comes off as painfully forced for most part of the film. The best performance is given by Balasubramaniam’s high speed camera that captures some truly amazing, detailed slow-mo nuggets (although why those sequences existed in the movie remains a mystery).

180 feels like there was an explosion at the sob story factory and little pieces from dozens of different films were jammed together into one dreadful mutant. The whole terminal illness melodrama attacks your chest so relentlessly, that by the time it's over you’re forced to beg for a defibrillator.

Double Dhamaal Movie Review

Double Dhamaal
If we go by the last scene of DOUBLE DHAMAAL, DHAMAAL 3 is on the cards. Looking at DOUBLE DHAMAAL, we hope it doesn't happen.

Talking about sequels, you will agree that making a sequel is always a challenge. The expectations are high and the comparisons to the original are inevitable. There is a pressure to at least be at par, if not better than the earlier part. DHAMAAL was wacky and hilarious at the same time. Even the characters and their quirky traits were enjoyable. Now, in DOUBLE DHAMAAL, the same characters are rudderless due to the lack of a coherent script.
Incase you don't remember, the initial reels of the film give a quick recap of the previous part. Roy (Ritesh Deshmukh), Adi (Arshad Warsi), Manav (Jaaved Jaaferi) and Boman (Aashish Chaudhry) had donated their money to charity. Two years have passed and they are still waiting for an easy way to make big money. However, unlike their precarious condition, Inspector Kabir Nayak (Sanjay Dutt) has made a huge transition (we're not told how). He drives a Mercedes and has a swanky office. That's not all. He also has two lovely ladies - Kamini (Mallika Sherawat) and sister Kiya (Kangna Ranaut) for company. Looking at his opulent lifestyle, our four guys get envious and decide to dupe him. But their devious tricks turn futile as Kabir is able to outsmart them every time. Who will have the last laugh?

The first thing that hits you while watching DOUBLE DHAMAAL is that it's too loud. Each and every character is screaming and the gags are over the top. Apart from a few sequences that make you laugh, majority of it is a lot of codswallop. While DHAMAAL had a good plot, DOUBLE DHAMAAL falls way short in terms of the story, despite moving from Mumbai to Macau. The narrative does improve in the second half, but it's simply not enough. Randomly placed songs add on to your woes.

There are some cheeky digs taken on films like PEEPLI [LIVE], GUZAARISH and TAARE ZAMEEN PAR. Wonder how some of the vulgar gags and dialogues got a green signal from our Censor Board.

Music Review: Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap

Obviously the Big B angry youth, or rather, old man "back" is. A AB Corp film - - Amitabh Bachchan in his next home production directed by Puri Jagannath.Sample an intriguing soundtrack. Vishal - Shekhar composed by, it's only five tracks, four of which have been sung by Bachchan himself.

Most e heart of the first song, a slow romantic and surprisingly his deep melodious voice is a ballad sung by Amitabh Bachchan. Monali Thakur, Shekhar Ravjiani of the song and that is connected to provide backing vocals. It is a slow, soothing number that starts with B vocals and very little music and a fast speed gradually builds with more musical accompaniment. Bachchan singing it before the attacks, haunting beyond words "and" Main Yahaan Tu Wahaan 'from Baghban' Rozana 'reminds me of.

The album's second song of the image quickly, Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap (Accapella version) has broken up with. Bachchan also dons the mic for this one, '.Song trailer does not help either. While attempting to play openly of his age and his legacy is admirable, her hip song and at the same time feel "angry" does not work.

Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap

The same song with a dance vibe. Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap (Dub Step) is essentially the same but with an overdose of electronic rock track. Bachchan Vishal Dadlani of the company's English rap, an element of the late Hindi film song called remix has become a tradition.

Merry Go get this album reaches a peak with a gimmicky. Is designed as a club number, the song brings with his son Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan. Autotune - in - 70 rap interludes Bachchan and his most famous songs by Junior Senior Bachchan rehashing it mixed with a heavy track. Referred to the old songs 'Khaike Pan Banareswala', 'Pagh Ghunghroo Dam' and 'Sara Zamaana.' Barse color 'a track which either underwhelming singing father-son combo, Amitabh classic hits from the collapse depends almost exclusively on the fans sing, rap is an attempt at the junior Bachchan, or the ingredients to become the song ends A concoction of all of the over-the-top.
Bhuddah Hoga Tera Baap
With sound, and an item song over the wraps. Main Chandigarh De Star energetically Sunidhi Chauhan (Bachchan sing in this one!) Is sung by. Punjabi songs are almost complete and the road is a lot of terminology that Chauhan is attitude. Music is functional but is also heavy on percussion, vocals drowned out. Raveena Tandon in a song called the film, which of the vacancy is on the big screen will feature a brief return. In an otherwise unsatisfying album, this track really stands out. This is especially great, but just that it is more enjoyable and more comfortable.

Overall, a pretty depressing a AB Corp film, musicians and veteran Telugu film as Jagannath Puri, Vishal - Shekhar album around the idea of expectations. Here's hoping the film than the film itself delivers songs that are given life.

Shaitan: Movie Review

Shaitan
A decade back, Anurag Kashyap directed his first film Paanch which, despite being unreleased till date, is perhaps the most popular pirated film of Bollywood. For people who missed Paanch , Shaitan kinda revisits the basic plotline of the film, proving that Kashyap's directorial debut was ahead of its time and one can relate to its theme and treatment in today's times.

NRI Amy (Kalki Koechlin) shifts to Mumbai and makes friends with a bunch of urban brats who believe in living life on the edge. The gang includes the loaded KC (Gulshan Devaiya), a drug-peddler Dash (Shiv Pandit), model-cum-aspiring actress Tanya (Kirti Kulhari) and the idler Zubin (Neil Bhoopalam). A random hit-and-run episode on a dopey night lands them into trouble when a cop (Raj Kumar Yadav) tracks them down and blackmails for huge ransom.

Army Wives Review: "Farewell to Arms"

For a season finale, with such incredibly far reaching changes, it didn't feel like much of a finale at all. A series finale, maybe, but we already know that the show is renewed for next year.

What are the odds that every one of the characters won't come back? I'd say nil. So where does this leave them? I can't think of another show that has thrown such a huge change into the mix at the end of a season.

Army Wives
Honestly, it's really difficult to talk about this episode, but I'll try to get a few things out there, nonetheless.

As for Michael and the drunk driving incident, I was wondering when that video would come into play. Two episodes ago, they showed it in the previews, and then there was no mention of it last week.
It did look bad for Michael. The police could have run the entire video to try to take the heat off of General Holden. Why didn't they do that? In spite of the fact their own department leaked the cuts of the video to the press, they didn't do much to help him out.

The hell with it, I just need to get this out there. I can talk about the show like it was any other, but it wasn't. They are closing Ft. Marshall. Although they've hinted at this many different years, I'm shocked that it's happening. We'll no longer see the beautiful sets, such as the Holden's porch and garden. It's weird the things I think about, but I'm already missing the sets!

The decision was made for the Moran's, they're moving to California. When Trevor finds out he's getting into Officer's Candidate School, and can pick their next assignment, Roxy screams "California!" Maybe there will be some sort of a migration in the same direction.

As the wives went about their normal lives before discovering the truth about Fort Marshall, Finn learned Whit was his father. Trevor was once again the man we loved to be with Roxy. That lead to TJ asking about his dad, who was an abusive man. That one woman could have to child by two different men under such different circumstances lead to a real mess for her children.

Thankfully, she and Trevor have already gotten back on track, so that he can be the father they really need right now. It's like they took every loose end and tried to tie it up. It was both exciting and worrisome.

Meanwhile David was telling his friends tall tales about his birth mom, but still unwilling to accept Joan as his new mom. When Joan told him they were never "giving him back" he finally understood what a family was. When David called Joan mom, I got a little teary eyed.

I guess the whole episode was about family, and that no matter where you go, the family you make along the way will always be a part of your life. I can only hope that this means the majority of our characters will be sticking around for season six. Hollywood has a way of making that happen, but I'd venture to guess we will lose one or two wives along the way.

"Farewell to Arms" was poignant, thoughtful and an honor to all of those we have grown to love over the years. I was blindsided by this development, and would love to hear your thoughts and where we might go from here.

We'll see you back in the winter of 2012!

'Aaranya Kaandam' - a realistic account of gangsters (Tamil Movie Review)

Film: "Aaranya Kaandam"; Cast: Jackie Shroff, Ravi Krishna Sampath Raj, Yasmin Ponnappa, Somasundaram; Producer: Capital Film Works; Director: Thiagarajan Kumararaja; Music: Yuvan Shankar Raja; Rating: *** 1/2

Debutant Thiagarajan Kumararaja's "Aaranya Kaandam", which won the Grand Jury Award for best film at the South Asian International Film Festival, gives a realistic account of the world of gangsters.

The film begins with a quote - "Anything which is the need of the hour is dharma" - supposedly by legendary Chanakya in 300 BC. As expected, the film is based on the same philosophy.

The movie opens with an old man trying to make love to his young wife in vain. His frustration finds an outlet in violence and the girl asks him, "Why do you beat me for your inability?" The scene shifts to outside the house where a set of goons are chatting. The man inside the house may be incapable of having sex, but he is a don.
Welcome to the darker side of Chennai, north Chennai to be precise. Producer S.P. Charan and director Kumararaja have tried to tread on a new path - the path of harsh realism.

The director has chosen to show us the cruel world of gangsters and the narrative does full justice to the theme. He has avoided clichés and any deviation in the name of comic relief or romantic flavour.

The story revolves around Singam Perumal (Jackie Shroff), a powerful don, his right-hand Pasupathy (Sampath Raj), and his arch rival Gajendran (Rambo Rajkumar), another gangster.
Pasupathy brings up a proposal to outsmart Gajendran by appropriating a narcotics parcel sent for the latter. His plan is perfect but Singam doesn't want to take any risk. Pasupathy teases his master by citing his age as the reason for the cautious approach.

The don gets angry and decides to eliminate his lieutenant. After all, anything that is the need of the hour is dharma. Pasupathy somehow escapes from his clutches. Pasupathy is now being hunted by two gangs and he is running to save his life.

The side track involves Singam's wife Subbu (Yasmeen Ponnappa) and Sappai (Ravikrishna), a weak man, the object of fun in the gang. Subbu uses Sappai to get out of her sexual frustration. She even tries to escape from the clutches of the old man. Anything which is the need of the hour is dharma.

Meanwhile, the narcotics parcel accidentally lands in the hands of a poor man. The man is full of pride but his son is quite pragmatic and clever. While the father is caught by Singam's gang, the son escapes with the parcel and tries to save his father.
The paths of the boy and Pasupathy intersect and the latter grabs the chance to change his fortunes. He uses the boy's plight to save his life. Anything which is the need of the hour is dharma.
The movie is made without much loopholes or cinematic liberties. The climax fight stands out while the scene showing the poor father and son weeping in the street touches your heart.
The lone drawback is that the theme fails to rise above the realm of the chosen backdrop.
In terms of acting, Jackie Shroff in the role of a rusty don steals the show with his matured and flawless performance. Sampath Raj is not far behind. Even Ravikrishna has rendered a decent performance in a different role while Yasmeen Ponnappa is quite impressive as a deprived girl turning to be a schemer.
The dialogues are realistic and philosophical. The background score by Yuvan Shankar Raja adds a new dimension to the narrative (the movie doesn't have any song). The editing of Praveen K.L. and Shrikanth N.B is stylish and in sync with the genre. Cinematographer Vinod has added credibility to the script with his camera angles and colours.
Thiagarajan Kumararaja has given us a gangster movie which stands out with its realistic portrayal and no-nonsense treatment. Good performances, effective dialogues, slick editing and amazing camerawork help the movie stand out from the crowd.

West is West Review – only performances stands out

Movie Review
West is West Review – Bollywood Hindi movie 2011 West Is West is a comedy-drama film, which is a sequel to the 1999 comedy East Is East.

When Compared the two films ‘East is East’ was a one-dimensional character while the new one West is West’s Khan is much more complex. But there is no comedy in this film and which has no detail in the play of drama where Indian viewers will not recognise with the main leads, which is very poosr script to say and ultimately reducing the impact of the drama. The best of the movie which offers drama the oustanding performances and the background score stands out. Overall, West Is West is narrated well but it definately will face low prospects at the box-office in India. Overall, a boring movie!
It starring Aqib Khan, Om Puri, Linda Bassett, Ila Arun and Jimi Mistry, is written by Ayub Khan-Din, directed by Andy DeEmmony, and produced by Leslee Udwin for Assassin Films and BBC Films. Both films are based on the writer’s own life as a young man in Salford in the 1970s, with Sajid being his alter ego; the script was loosely based on a draft of a screenplay about his life in Pakistan as a 13-year-old.

Love Express | Movie Review | Love Express Wallpaper Download | Love Express Songs Download

God and Subhash Ghai know, the film industry needs new talent. It is therefore heartening to see Ghai patronize newcomers.

Love Express is a sadly uninspired vehicle to accommodatenew talent. Everyone connected with this rather touchingly disoriented low-budget romantic comedy set in ‘speeding’ train (or so we are supposed to believe) is untried, eager to make an impression .

The amateurishness of presentation is in some ways, a sign of burgeoning talent. The students of Subhash Ghai’s acting school seem in search of their bearings. And that’s what makes them so endearing.
The set representing the chugging express train is quickly filled up with a wedding party, assorted uncles and auntiess, nieces and nephews oddball characters who burst in pop-Bhangra songs as though they auditioning for India’s Most Flaunted.

The characters revel in their loud quirkiness because that’s the way a Punjabi wedding entourage is expected to behave.

Subtlety, or whatever we may call any attempt to infuse an aesthetic restraint to a film about wedding revelry, is at a low premium here.

The debutant director has a grip over his characters but not much of an idea as to how to package them in any way that appears innovative.

The two newcomers playing the reluctant bride and groom struggle with lines that try hard to replicate the trendy cynicism of today’s wannabe-cool brigade.

The small-town social climbers with their fake designer bags and borrowed accents were far more palpably credible in Aanand Kumar’s Tanu Weds Manu .

Love Express expresses neither a love for the small-town milieu that it tries to pack into a train of caricatural characters, nor does display any fluidity in its narration. The actors possess no wherewithal to make the loud caricatural characters spoofy in their flamboyance.

At the most we can smile indulgently at the new talent that Subhash Ghai’s film school throws forward. Decades ago Ghai acted in a film Umang about youthful aspirations. Love Express makes you wonder what these young guns really want.

Fahrenheit 451 Review

Fahrenheit 451 Review
It’s a little ironic to listen to an audio book on such a technologically advanced device when the book is presumably about society’s over reliance on technology. The novel also warns about the dangers of censorship, but thankfully this edition is unabridged and uncensored. I may have missed some of the point by lazily resting my eyes and enjoying the book audibly via the crisp, clear narration, but I promise I won’t start running around torching iOS devices like a paranoid pyromaniac. Besides, it’s probably a lot harder to set an iPhone on fire than a traditional book. Enough about the literary influences of the work though; let me talk about the app. Fahrenheit 451 is a very impressive audiobook app for iOS that features some engaging extra features and a solid presentation.
The main portion of the app has a simple to use interface with large playback controls and a visual volume slider. The featured audiobook is split into 5 manageable portions that are easily navigable through the contents section of the app. There’s also a handy resume feature that saved me the hassle of having to find where I last left off every time I restarted the app. One of my favorite aspects of Fahrenheit 451 for iOS was the ability to run it in the background. I was able to surf the web, view photos, and use several multitask capable apps all while listening to the book. The narrator does an excellent job bringing the book to life, and the audio quality is phenomenal. The app also features several “Extras” which range from crossword puzzles and a trivia style game to famous quotes and information about the author. All of the extra features were informative and entertaining, but the amount of content provided seemed a little slim.

Even though the included extras weren’t as beefy as I would’ve preferred, they were all very professional and entertaining. Fahrenheit 451 is a great edition of the classic novel, and while it’s in the higher end of the app store price range, it is a decent value in the world of audiobooks. Fans of the source material and newcomers alike should be pleased with the high quality effort put into this presentation. It is one of my favorite books, and the iOS app certainly doesn’t disappoint.

The Hangover Part II

By Satyen K. Bordoloi

Cast: Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong and Paul Giamatti

Director: Todd Phillips

Rating: **

"Hangover II" is a unique film in one respect. Whereas the usual trend for a sequel is to try and take the elements from the original and take the story forward, "Hangover II" has no such pretences, setting out instead to copy the first almost to the last detail by merely relocating the film, thus instantly giving you a bad hangover coupled with dejà vu.

Just like in the first part, the motley gang of friends, after a night of boozing in Thailand where they have gone to attend the marriage of Stu (Ed Helms), wake up with a terrible hangover, in a strange sweaty room, with a monkey and a cut finger in the room.
And yes, a very important person in their group, whose finger lies on the table, is missing. Just like in the first part they try to find the missing person while trying to figure out where they were the previous night and what they did.

The first question that comes to mind is, why bother with making a sequel if you have to do the same thing all over again?

Why not instead, sell the rights of the film to different parts of the world so instead of this one being called "Hangover II", it would have been called "Hangover in Bangkok" directed by someone there and the 'inspired' Sajid Khan in India could make "Hangover in Mumbai" and so on.

Why, they could also have had a political one called "Hangover In Washington" with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing a life-sized cameo while "Hangover In Paris" would have Dominique Strauss-Kahn.

The beauty of the first part was that the audiences did not know what to expect and were genuinely surprised at every turn of the film. This part is so alike the original that after a point it begins to irritate.

The filmmakers try to up the ante by trying to add some fun elements like a smoking, drug peddling chimp, introducing Paul Giamatti, increasing the gags for Alan and Chow etc, but overall it falls flat on its face and becomes nothing more than a tourist ride through the ugliness and beauty of Bangkok

The only thing that shines though this film is some extremely lazy and sloppy writing and direction with even the few gags raising nothing more than a chuckle. With some very implausible elements like the coolness of character to a kid losing his finger, and many sub-plots left halfway, the fact that the film was created by people nursing a hangover is evident.

Thus, the only people who are bound to like the film even a little bit, are hardcore fans of the first and those who have not seen the first at all.

Kung Fu Panda 2

The trailer of "Kung Fu Panda 2" claimed that the film comes with 'double the awesomeness'. For a change, the final product indeed lives up to the tall claims of its trailer with a film that is both funnier and darker than its prequel.

Our fat, lovable and perennially hungry Panda Po (Jack Black), though accepted by his dragon warrior mates is not accepted by master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman).

Meanwhile, China has to contend with the rise of Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) who has a master weapon with which he is bent upon destroying Kung Fu and bringing China under his power. The only ones who can stop him is our motley gang of warriors. But the secrets to Po's quest for his parents will threaten their mission.

"Kung Fu Panda" took upon the well-known concept of the different fighting styles known in Kung Fu and instead of humans doing the different animals' styles, had the animals do their own styles.

It invented gags and situations that left the audiences laughing. This part not only takes the elements from the first that made it so popular, but builds upon it to humorous consequences.

The film is also an example of how despite being limited by the idiosyncrasies of the characters and situations set in the first part, the modifications and adaptations can be simply wonderful and original under the careful pen of imaginative writers and the camera of a skilled director.

The film is funnier, yet the emotional search of the Panda's roots and an evil, power-hungry villain makes it much darker than the original while also making it engaging for serious adults as well. Also, the metaphor of the film, against modernity and destructive science, is extremely serious and 'adult'.

History tells us that the genesis of gunpowder, that changed the world, its politics and science, was in China. However, while the Chinese never went beyond using it for fun and fire works, it reached Europe through the Arabian traders.

Europe, and Christianity, was going through its dark age then and was engaged in a prolonged religious and economic war with Islam. What interestingly turned the tide in their favour was when the Europeans figured how to use gunpowder in guns. The rest as they say is history which saw Europe colonise most of the remaining world, including China.

"Kung Fu Panda 2" makes an allegory of the same in the form of Lord Shen (Gary Oldman) who, like the Europeans, figures out the use of gun powder in canons and sets out to destroy China itself. However, while unarmed Kung Fu fighters are able to prevent him in the film, the reality of what Europe did to the world with their new found power is much more destructive.

Besides your usual voiceover, the film also features the voices of some other martial arts favourites, include Jean-Claude Van Damme and Jackie Chan to the delight of martial arts fans.

The force is definitely stronger with this sequel that expands upon the vistas of the original and whose end foretells another instalment. In itself, it is a film not to be missed by young and old alike.
