that is wrong..i have a 7 year old and we did FP for the child and we paid for it when we paid all the other fees. Its code 2/3 for child and adults or vice versa.

My employer has changed the conditions of my employment after we mutually agreed to start the greencard process (reduced benefits, increased my out-of-pocket expenses, did not give yearly increase and bonuses promised at the beginning of my employment). I am now unable to make ends meet with my current salary and there is no sign I will get an increase soon. Will this constitute as valid reason if I quit my job in, say, 1 month from receiving the greencard?
Also, the Senior position specified in the I-140 is not available right now. Do I have the right to claim it, now that the greencard had been approved? If they won't give it to me, will this be a valid reason to quit and not jeopardize my GC with the USCIS?
Please advise. Thank you!

I put my information online in Feb 09 when I first heard abt this program and did receive some calls in Mar but after that nothing happened. I pretty much read all the forums did not find any details about the battalion who is hiring MAVNI applicants.
Then one of my friend told me about a recruiter and I got his number and mentioned that my friend gave you his number and talked to him. He asked me to mail copy of my degree, transcripts, SSN, DL, I-94 for department of homeland security approval.
Meanwhile I met him once personaly in LA. It took 2days for my DHS approval and then I went there for 3 days for language test, physical and ASVAB test. Once you clear all those they will show you the list of job that you are eligible. select the job, sign the contract and take the oath.
That is all. I cannot put the recruiter phone number on the forum. Because I have his cell number and I dont want to advertise. But if you are really interested I can help you either give your number to him or his number to you. Send me a private message. I want to help others because I received a help from this forum :)

(1) Is there a certain number of years for which an advanced parole given by the USCIS? Or, does it depend on what the applicant is writing, for ex, "I am planning a trip to XXX in between July 1, 2009 through 30 December 2010," and the parole is given on that many years of request?
(2) Also, once an advanced parole expires, should the applicant re-apply it continuosly until he/she receives his/her green card? In case of renewal, should the applicant apply for renewal before a certain number of months before the AP expires.

Why are you talking about taking precautions? By law you are allowed to change job of similar nature. Similar is a word that the USCIS has discreation to judge. If you have worked for 5 years in a job you should know wether the new job is similar or not. Based on that you take your decision - rest is in the hand of God and God's agent in this country - USCIS.

Anyone any idea if the 140 and 485 both are pending for 180 days and EAD is received and there are still 6 months left in the H1B (8th year extension) and is laid off with 140 still pending but 485 is in process for more than 180 days?
I really appreciate someone sharing the experience or expertise/thought on this.

I am in the same boat as you, our's might be approved by end of Sept.
Took an info pass and the officer told mine is stuck in name check. My name check is initiated for name check on mid of October 2007 . I can wait for GC. All I am worried is that because of me my husband's GC should not be denied.:mad:

Hi I have a quick question..
I was arrested for aggravated battery. I plead not guilty and fought the case. The judge dismissed the case in single hearing by giving a verdict that i am "Not Guilty". Also my ex filed a 498a case in India. She included everyone in my family. The case is still pending as my ex is here and not attending the court. I was wondering whether this will impact my AOS, I140 and my H1 renewal?
Since AB falls under Criminal Offense, i am worried whether i should even try applying AOS or not?
Please advise.

You can file for ITIN along with your Tax filing. You can get the relevant forms and require docs from the IRS web site. I have done that couple of years back.

I Know that we can send our personal checks. I happened to come across a post y day that said company checks show good relationship between employer and employee. I am not sure if its a coincidence or not, Two gentlemen I spoke with y day were a bit surprised, when I told them I am going to use my personal checks or teller checks. One of them was asking, if sending our personal checks is permitted. Whats wrong with sending personal checks? Any one who filed themselves???
I do not see any thing in the direct filing instructions about which states need to file where. My service center would be VT geographically, but we all know that it must be NSC/TSC for 485. Where is the listing? I have seen 2 or 3 people last year who filed with NSC, cases transferred to TSC and got GC/EAD/AP everything together in 45 days. No kidding.
I was thinking of getting cashier's checks made to DHS. I'm not too sure if personal checks are accepted - I've never read about anyone submitting personal checks to DHS, have you?
