Not true. Using AP is not going to invalidate your H1, but using EAD will. I told about this several times in various threads.

I very firmly believe that if someone has good skills then he/she will bag a job. I would spend my time enhancing my skills rather than looking at market trend.

Hi Mygc2006,
Can you let us know which code is mentioned for your kids in finger print notice.
My kid got notice with code 2
Thanks
I have two kids, my son is 8 years and daughter is 5 years old. Since it clearly says in 485 form that FP is not required for kids below 14, we didn't pay for FP fee of kids and attorney confirmed it then. We got FP notices for me and my wife on Aug 1st and we completed it. Later on after a week we received FP notices for my son and daughter for Aug 23rd even though we didn't send the FP $ for them. We just went and completed the FP for kids on Aug 23rd :)
I know one of my friend who sent FP money for his kids along with 485 application even though they were below 14 and he did get FP notice for them and they all got GC approved now. He was a March filer.

As I see it -- these are the points to counter him:
1. Firstly the pressure on American wages is not due to only immigration but to the general globalization of the economies of the world and the fact that capital will now flow to the cheapest available labor market. These higher wages in the developed world compounded by the enormous healthcare bills the employers are paying in the US actually drive wages down or keep them flat in the case where they actually do not cause a displacement of the job.
2. The problem that he talks about where all the additional growth in population is coming from:
a. Firstly the fertility rate of 2.1 will cause an eventual decline in the population as has happened in Western Europe and that will actually mean worse economic conditions since most capital will move to the growing economies of the world as in Asia.
b. He talks of how "We have had to build roads and sewers and schools"! This is preposterous. These immigrants are part of the tax paying system (except the illegal ones now) and are hard working people contributing to the vitality of local and national economy, creating jobs and wealth. These additional workers will end up producing enough wealth to more than pay for all the additional infrastructure. This is evidenced by the fact that until the Iraq war, came along the national budget had cut back the deficit and was running into a surplus and most vibrant cities in the US actually have a significant number of immigrants!
3. He talks of how immigration is a policy to help the poor people of the third world. While it may be true that immigration does indeed help third world people, a significant portion of the immigration numbers are people who the US perceives will help keep the nation at the forefront of science, engineering and arts. In fact if you look at major contributions to the American workplace and to the American industry they come many times from immigrants -- go one to quote " Google, Sun, Intel, Yahoo, Ebay, Hotmail, etc." Most of the people who worked on the Manhattan project were immigrants without which the second world war would not have ended as decisively as it did.
He then ends by linking every Americans deep rooted fears of being overcrowded and congested out of "America" to the growing immigration numbers. A better question to ask is this -- if you slowed immigration down and you went into the 2.1 fertility growth, and as the population ages and as the young kids coming out don't want to get science and Engineering degrees who will keep the society running? Who will pay social security as the number of kids per adult decreases dramatically, without influx of skilled and hard wokring immigrants? Who will bear the Medicare burden? Who will keep Americas edge in the world as a Superpower? It has always been the immigrants and at this time more than ever it is imperative the America not lose it's edge.
Thanks
Kalyan.

Congrats Mark and Thanks for all your work to IV.
Yes, I got the approval email on Friday.
I'm pretty sure that I updated our tracker too.
Thanks for the wishes.

I raised a second service request about 23rd April, so USCIS had until 24th May to adjudicate. I had them record in that service request if there was no action by 5/24 that they would next hear from my Congressman's office, and I had been preparing for WOM if that got nowhere.
My wife had to travel yesterday, so I'd been a little distracted recently. I just got round to calling law makers about bills this morning. So I'm still active, and still a spokesman.
She will be in the limbo state when she returns not really H4 but no I-551 in her hand either, and no AP. However, all my research on this leads me to believe that IO's are sensible humans, indeed we spoke with an IO last night at the airport, I've given her the receipt notices and USCIS memo about H class travel without AP, and a cover note.

Isnt there a minimum wage for each job class/type, that is mentioned on your LCA ?
You cannot make the arguement that as a computer programmer you are fine as long as you get 3x what a McDonalds employee gets.
:) Look I don't know the details of the blue card. You mentioned minimum wage, and in US minimum wage mean something very particular, in NC $7.25 per hour.
Personally, I don't think 3 times the prevailing wage makes sense to me. I don't remember my LCA amount. I know I make more than it but doubt its 3 times (could be, have to check) that. Then again it might depend on the field. I have seen in some fields/employers LCA amounts are usually very low compared to the actual wage. If things are tightly controlled in Europe such that the prevailing wages are a true reflection of reality, how many foreign workers can claim a salary 3times that? So, I think they will probably require 3 times the equivalent of US minimum wage, to prevent "cheap" labor.

Can you please post the AP renewal documents and the exact link? Is there a time limit like AP could be applied only 4 months in advance like EAD?

If immigration bill happens, we have to move fast and expand our support substantially. We need to get ready and get all immigrants involved with IV. That can only be done if each member helps and informs all his/her friends about IV
Hello Guys,
My question is, does this bill contain a recapture visa bill? And if this bill moves fast to become law, will it be implemented right away? I hope we don't have to wait another year for the law to be put in to use.
Please advise.

Thanks,
JD

Thank you for the response.
I spoke with my current company lawyer and they mentioned that they will receive the RFE since they filed G28 during AC21 and also I should be getting a copy of the same too.
I am not in a consultant position.
My main concern was who will get the RFE letter and hopefully it will be simple.

Guys whoever planning to use EAD going forward get ready for $700- per head out of pocket every year. That is the cost of renewal for EAD & AP without attorney involvement. Add additional family members and you can understand why was July bulletin made current.
Lots of revenue at our expense .......
That's a mind boggling $200M a year.
They sure did this on purpose. If they had made things current in august or later, everyone would have applied with a higher fee but future EAD/AP renewals would have been free.
Old fee : $325+170+180 = $675 onetime plus $700 per year
New fee: $1010 one time with free renewals
Would you opt for $335 NOW or go for $700/year starting NEXT year?
That is $90M NOW or $200M/year for the next 10 years....
They had their plan well decided before July !
