I had my interview on the 30th and my passport has not been delivered yet. The VFS website says that the passport has not been handed over to them as of today. I was not given any 221g slip/form and the VO told me that i should be getting my PP in 5 days, it's been a week now and VFS hasn't got the PP yet. Is there something i should be worried about? I have my return ticket booked for next weekend and i am getting a bit nervous about the whole scenario. Does anyone know if there is any other way to get in touch with the New Delhi consulate?

We were exactly in the same situation few months ago. We were told that our visas have been issued and we will get our passports within 5-7 days (no 221g at the time of the interview). After 5 days when we contacted VFS they said wait upto 7 business days. I waited and then they gave me the number of the embassy. When we contacted embassy they said that an email has been sent to me asking more documents but we did not get any emails. We asked them to resend and after 3 days of our request we got their email with a soft copy of 221g(green).
We wish that similar thing may not happen with anyone as we know the tension of going thru it.
I would suggest that you call Embassy instead of calling VFS to get the real status. VFS will just tell if they got the passport or not. They can not tell you the reason.

One of my cousin works in oracle and he has mentioned to me that oracle is not filing in EB2 category (they used to file before), not sure is it for every one or depends on team to team or person to person.
I would advice you better check in advance as soon as you have job confirmation

I guess you already know but can't help to remind this :
USPS has a system of mail-forwarding. After leaving your old-address, if you notify USPS, USPS will continue to forward all your first class mails to your new address specified by you. You can do it Online @ usps.com... I guess they charge $1 for verifying your address from the CC address, if you do it online(which I did).
So, NO, your mails will not be lost!

irrational - Sorry to say this is little bit unlucky case. This happened to me also. My case got transferred to VSC from TSC in July 2009 and from then it is sitting there with no progress. Taken info pass but no use. (Yet to think about the next steps!).
I applied for EAD and AP in Aug last week and got the approved copies in Sep second week. I sent the application to TSC.
mmanurker - Can you please tell me how long your application was present in VSC? Also did you do anything to move it back to TSC or NSC.

I did it few months back for my wife from CGI SFO. You should be fine. There ia one thing though. The I-693 medical exam needs your wife's passport number. You could do that only after you receive the new passport. May cause some delay.

The Senate and the house may be passing the tax refund bill soon (due to slowing economy). There is lot of pressure on the government to act soon.
Can we get them to attach atleast one of our provisions with these bills - the most important and non controversial being recapture of unused visa numbers.
Just a suggestion................I know there is no dearth of suggestions.
We should definitely try (in addition to writing letters).
Can we get some more information about this bill? Who are the key players supporting/pushing it, who/how do we contact to try and push some of these reforms?

Thanks so much for your message. Let me list down what I have after the visa transfer to my current employer. Can you pls. help validate if I need anything else for me and my wife? You had mentioned something about I-539. This is what I have.
1. I-797A notice of action in my name. It says Case type - I129 Petition for non-immigrant worker. It says approval notice valid from 12/27/2006 to 12/25/2009.
2. I-797, notice of action in my wife's name. . It says Case type - I539 Application to extend / change nonimmigrant status. It says approval notice valid from 12/02/2007 to 12/25/2009.

I think USPS does not forward mails when the mail says "return service requested" .

The RFE is about on what basis i am eligible to extend H1B?. I sent copy of my 485 receipt and MTR copy & letter from my current employer explaining my 485 is pending more than 365 days and AC21 we requested for H1 extension.I thought i am going to get only one year but ..got 3 year extension.If you need more details PM me your phone or email .Will glad to help you

I just read the FAQ#3 and A33 says that I-485 �7/30/07 Y� should be used but my attorney used "07/24/06 Y" to file my I-485. Very worried now... any comments... what are chances that my apllication would be rejected?
Q33: When filing an EB I-485 using the old fee, what version of the I-485 form do we use?
A33: The current I-485 form version dated �7/30/07 Y� should be used.

Do not worry. Your mail will be delivered eventually. You probably need to wait for couple of days before the system gets updated with good message "delivered".
In my case, I had to wait for 4 days. I was expecting a return packet at my door. Four days later, I realized the packet was actually delivered to USCIS.

In the first place, without knowing the job details how a person gets an offer? by the way LCA number will never give a detailed description of nature of job.
