costs dont really matter...ur ranges are broad enough to take into account any costs associated with the realtors.

What drives the decision for a bill to be considered in Congress/Senate? WHY can't we pitch SKIL or TALENT Bills as a means to separate legal immigration from the ongoing CIR debate?
If politicians are introducing these bills, they should be willing to back them up separtely instead of saying that these come into picture only if CIR fails. Or is the introduction of other bills a sign of CIR's imminent failure? Since the top IV team has the visibility with politicians, this hypocrisy should be resolvable. Please tell us why these bills cannot be taken up while CIR is pending? Isn't that what the lobbying company is supposed to help us with?

I am not sure if this would work... I read when I made an infopass appointment that they will ask for proof of residence in the area of the service center.
I have taken infopass in NY state eventhough I reside in PA.you put in different ZIP code, thats all.Here you have added explanation that no info pass is available in your area anyway.
And it has nothing to do with your file in that local office either.It is definitely worth taking a chance, to get your I-551 stamp in an emergency

if your wife never visited US in the last year (2008) I am not sure you can claim her as your dependent for last year. please check this.. if you can't claim your wife as dependent, you can apply as single and get $600 rebate. you can apply for a ITIN next year. get a tax advisor's input on this...

When you first came to the US, you should have told the consular officer : "If you can gaurantee that your govt will give me a green card within 3 years of landing, then I will gladly come to your country." Likewise, you should have told your employer : "If you gaurantee to make me the CEO within 3 years, then I will gladly join you." If you didnt have a choice then, you dont have it now either, my friend.
Many would certainly contribute if IV core members can guarantee all members of this organization a sure success for SKILL BILL to be passed before end of this year.

One cannot expect their employees to stay with them forever...Remember, most of the states have "at will" employment. It can be started and ended "at will" anytime by anybody for any reason (or NOT).
As to leaving in 3 months, that goes towards business risk. When companies hire new employees they take a business risk of losing them because of things out of their control. That is not and never should be a reason to show the ill intent of not paying the money that is earned.

The only reason why I want to change my status from H4 to F1 is because I will not be able to get assistantship on H4.
You would probably be better off going back to your home country and reentering on an F1. If you file for a COS, it would probably take, on an average, 3 months to be approved. Till then you cannot work on an assistantship.
If your F1 is denied in your home country, your H4 remains intact so you can reenter on your H4 and then try for a COS here. Also, although grad assistantships require you to be on an F1, FYI, tuition waivers do not, so if you could arrange something with your graduate department to volunteer assistantship work for a tuition waiver (without receiving an assistantship, something that my wife did) while your COS application is pending, you could try for that. Later, when your F1 gets approved, you could upgrade to a full assistantship. Double check with your international student advisor about that.
As to your chances of getting your F1 approved in your home country, I guess that is hit or miss.

If the H1 is cancelled she has to move to either H4(cant work) or EAD(AOS). Since she has EAD its better to use it while the status is pending as AOS. I dont see any issues except that H1B wont be valid anymore which is OK as she has EAD. I know atleast two of my friends wife's who started using EAD due to contract issues or clients not accepting middle layers etc. although they had H1B.

I have tax guy who was from Bangladesh and then I moved to an Indian guy who did taxes for me this year. Both of them told me that I can not benefit by the fact that I am making payments in India for a property I bought............so I would think that the above statement is incorrect.

You mean you want me to update Priority date, 140 and 485 dates? I filed for PERM in MAR 06 and got approved in NOV 06, Changed my Employer in MAR 07 so couldn't take adavantage of JULY fiasco. Got I-140 approval from my first PERM in NOV 07 but whats the use.
Filed PERM from current employer in JUN/JUL 07 got audited and then denied. Case was appealed and now i have filed for withdrawal just to refile in PERM again. SO i am not at all in this green card Queue.
Uptill last year my Information on this portal was updated. But i changed recently and marked everything as N/A because posting meaningless information doesn't make any sense. Do you need to understand that everyone is not as fortunate as you to have PERM, 140 approved and 485 pending.

I am sorry to hear about your story but if your I-140 was approved at some point, that PD is yours to keep. Whene you do your PERM/140 again just request the old PD and you will be good to go. Just noted that you changed jobs by the time you got 140 approval. Can you request your old employer to give you the I 140 copy?
On the housing bill, I believe Johnny Isakkson's proposal for 15K and the last year eligibility might have been taken out to reduce the size of the bill. Wait for the full text of if you have the text post it here so that all of us can get to the bottom of it.

1. Do you have the address of his office - I intend to send him a letter similar to the letter you suggested to be sent to DOL office. (another option is to dig the Internet for this address)
2. Do you consider relevant a formal letter on behalf of all registred members of the IV organization to be sent to Sen. McCain's office ? This could be in addition to contacting him in person as you suggest.
I live in Florida and cannot support you in NY but will try my way to help your noble efforts.

I have two cancelled passports and one current. Now that I got the latest visas on the new one, I keep the old ones in the bag (and no one asks for it).
When your visa expires, get a new visa stamp on the new passport and carry your old passport but there is low need to show it.
