I don't think that core team has the magic bullet but I didn't even see any attempts made during this bill in the house to attach any helpful amendments and I am very afraid that there might not be any attempt in the senate as well. This is plain frustrating.
I probably sound very upset here but all I am trying to say is that we need to keep trying. I am sure something is done by the core team in the background; at least I would like to believe that but since we don't hear anything or get any updates, it's hard to believe one way or the other....

Folks,
Rest assured, the core team is working on this very bill at the moment. I am not at the liberty to give any more details at the moment. But I do want to assure you that we are working on it.

I think - you writing back to USCIS and requesting them for an earlier date may not be feasible but I will certainly talk to my lawyers if USCIS do not honor my received date because I applied on July 2nd and USCIS processes applications based on I-485 RD (even 1 week later makes a lot of difference in my application process).
Interesting thought. I can prove my application was signed for on May 3rd. My receipt date is May 9th, took six days to get from Nebraska to Texas.
Not sure we have any recourse though, we are at their mercy.

This has a formatted letter about CIR - It includes a request for Green card retrogression relief. You can also compose your own letter and send it to the lawmakers from your area.
You just need to provide your zipcode - The senator list will automatically show up.
http://capwiz.com/aila2/issues/alert/?alertid=9221981.
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SENATORS NOW - BEFORE CIR OR ANY OTHER IMMIGRATION LEGISLATION COMES UP FOR HEARING

Mine says "Approval notice sent" and NOT "Document mailed to applicant".
Last year (first AP) it said, "Document mailed to applicant", I wonder if there is a difference.

I agree. Just setting earlier expiration date would have been sufficient (based on H1-B visa expiry) instead of writing "temporary" on the license.

We got turned down. We also asked if we can just pay 20K flat instead of paying these lawyers over and over again (definitely 10K+), but it did not fly :(
Did they give any reasons? AILA (American Immigration Lawyers Association) is a powerful organization, so I understand why your $20K flat fee idea was a non-starter. That's also the reason we are not going to see a points based GC system in this country anytime soon (as in Canada/UK, e.g.).
But I cannot think why they would not be willing to institute premium processing for non-H1 applications, while retaining the current lawyer-friendly process. Unless there are influential behind-the-scenes interests who don't want us getting a GC quickly...

Here's my short experience with Wikipedia. I don't have enough data to discern a pattern yet, although based on my limited experience below, stand alone sections seem to have a better chance of surviving than inline edits.
1. I added the In-state tuition section to the H1-B visa article yesterday. That still stands as of now.
2. I tried adding ImmigrationVoice.org to the External Links section today. That was deleted as spam. Probably because it required 2 edits, although I flagged the second edit as a minor edit.
3. I've added an Advocacy Efforts section at the bottom of the page. ImmigrationVoice.org is the only link there.
FWIW, the same user MWanner removed Manoj's contribution and my addition to the External Links section.

from what i infer :
if visa numbers are available then it should go to the retrogressed country.
there are about 40,000 visas for EB3 for entire world.
and if you look at demand, other countries hardly has any. so
ultimately a lot of visas from those 40,000 should come to india.

Thanks prem.
I will provide this to my in-laws to show it to officials. I could not find any form No on this format though. Can anyone confirm that this matches the contents of actual form No. 10 that was issues by government official?
Prem, I understand from your post that you responded to RFE with this format, were your RFE response accepted by CIS and did they resume the processing of your AOS? Thanks in advance.

I was referring to job duties for AC21 purposes, not porting.
Regarding starting the EB2 process with a new employer, your new job should have either a BS + 5 yrs or a MS degree as minimum job requirement and you should have the qualifications to meet the minimum job requirements. It need not be a same/similar position as your current EB3 job.
roseball,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I have B.Tech Plus 8.8 years of exp in US and another 4 years in india prior to coming to USA. I spoke with my new employer HR and I am qualified on all fronts.
However my point is, I already took the job with them and started working. I accepted the new job on the grounds of same/similar job as my old job. I took the offer letter also with similar responsibilities as in my old ETA form.
Now the proposal for EB2 came up. So, the job duties for EB2 job can be similar job duties as in my old (EB3) ETA or they should be different ? or in the similar lines with more responsibilities with more years (5) of experience ?
Could you please let me know the above.
Sorry for my lengthy post. I just wanted to be extra cautious and want the transition to happen smooth.
Thanks,
BKY

Hi,
this is the first time I am self-filing renewal - lawyer charges are getting too much.
Questions:
- Is there any thread that discusses EDS form details - I could not find one in he sticky sections.
- Is it better to eFile or Paper file? I am in PA and my case(485) incl previous EAD/AP renewals were filed at TSC by lawyers. Does this matter in deciding eFile/paper File option?
- How do you send payment in either of the cases?
Thanks again for help,
NS

some times in Bank owed propery sell, i see words " Buyer Responsible for CCO and Smoke Cert.".
is this related to inspection or something else? why seller doesn't do it and sell it, because it is expensive and time consuming procedure?
CCO is certificate of occupancy. Its a certificate that you may be required to get from the town or city (Municipality). This certificate would state that the property is up the to code (building code) of that city and there is no work done on the property without permit. If the house, for example, has broken plumbing, septic, or if it has bad paint, or unfinished exterior paint and looks bad from outside for the neighbourhood, then the town or city (municipality) may ask you to fix it before they issue you a CCO.
Sometimes, and most of the time in foreclosed properties that are bank-owned, the owner would have left the home already and it would be a vacant house. Some disgruntled owners would leave home even damaged. So there is no owner out there to get CCO for you. The banks are not really equipped to handle such things. So they ask prospective home buyers to do that legwork of getting CCO. If the house has nothing broken or illegal (like construction without permit, additional floor or room without permit) then CCO should be easy.
About smoke cert, I dont know. There is such a thing called Radon inspection - Its a part of home-owner inspection these days. Radon is a gas emitted from some polluted lands. Its rare but they check houses these days for that too since last few years. Your home inspector would take care of the Radon inspection as a part of overall inspection. I think that's what the smoke test means. He may also advise you on whether the House would easily get CCO or not.
The other reason why the BUYER should pay for inspection is that you want the inspector to be loyal and answerable to you. If you are paying the inspector, he will be faithful to you and tell you if there is something wrong in the house. If the seller gets it inspected, then the inspector has no incentive to look after your best interest and may not report on the hidden faults or defects in the house. That's why its a good idea to find your own home inspector and get it inspected.

Immigration Reform is the only hope for EB3...
No,you can not say that, because there is a quota for EB3 every year and they are clearing out the backlog, please do not kill the hope of EB3 people....
