I think instead of discussing the video and giving them more viewership, can you all please make your own videos and post them on the internet. It is very simple. I have heard You can even make a powerpoint presentation and convert it to a video file and post it. Other tech members in the group can help with more information.
If you need help, start a thread and collect people together and make few videos and post them on youtube, google etc. Only then our efforts will be useful.

Friend of mine has small project in his company and he needed me to help him to complete the project. He was asking me if I can work under 1099(independent contractor) for few hours a week.
Is there anybody who is using EAD to work for an employer under W2 and also works part time on 1099?

I doubt if the illegals will get a chance to vote soon. So what's the catch here?
IMO it's quite likely that the illegal lobbying groups have a huge war chest. I think....that's what's driving this whole CIR mess......campaign funding.....nothing else.

If this is for your first home, I would say stay away from foreclosures and short sales, especially short sales.
For short sales, you should be prepared to wait, because it is a way for the seller to avoid a foreclosure, whereas for the foreclosure, the event has already happened.
A foreclosure or short sale may involve substantial money for upkeep or repairs. Remember the people selling had a bad experience, and are being forced out of their homes.... do you think they have any incentive to leave their home in pristine condition? What this means is you need to budget for amount over and above the down payment. Your mortgage loan may likely not cover the repairs.
Before you go to a realtor, go to a mortgage broker, and make sure your financial stuff is in order. referrals and references of the broker are very important.
I would recommend reading the mortgage blogs on zillow dot com. See what other guys are talking about and asking. And don't trust the recommendations that the brokers have allegedly received :-)
Simple logic for mortgages: the more your down payment, the lower your rate. Ideal scenario is full down payment, no mortgage. If ideal scenario not possible, you need to cost benefit analysis to see amount of down payment that works.

What is 'C' company? I have heard of 'D' company (Dawood Ibrahim Company).
'D' Company does not file Green Cards for sure!!
You will get a 3 year extension with new employer as your I-140 is approved with your current employer.
Mar-08 may not be current in next year to file for 485. So the new employer will have 1-2 years to apply for labor and I-140 for you and you still wont lose your number in the queue or miss the boat. Make sure they port your priority date when applying for I-140.

I have a labor sub case. As it was abolished on July 16th. My attorney filed only I 140 on July 10th and could not file I 485 at that time because of July 2nd announcement. Now can he file I 485? Should he be waiting for the reciept of I 140 to file I 485?

Yes, I forgot to mention in my last post , as long as they don't get into the ability to pay issue, they might not revoke the I-140, I've heard some big companies are revoking I-140 as a rule , dunuo why anyone would do that.
There's more to it. If they don't revoke I-140 and if they want to sponsor GC for anyone in future, they need to prove their ability to pay for all the approved I-140 applicants. This is one reason I heard that employers want to notify USCIS.

1 - Came to US on B2 (visit visa) in October, 1999. My legal stay way valid till April, 2000
2- Found an employer and in March, 2000 filed for H1B/extension of stay. Lawyer at the time told me that since we filed H1 i don't need to file any other extension of stay
3- August, 2000 received approval notice of my H1 but approval notice mentioned start date of October, 2000 rather than March, 2000 as requested in the petition and approval notice did not have the I-94 card attached with it meaning they did not change my status. Appealed the decision and got some feedback from USCIS that they will look into this. Started working for the company in October, 2000. In January, 2001 Company received another notification from USCIS but I was never provided the copy so not sure what was the decision and was told all is fine but never provided the final approval notice. When i checked case status back in January 2001 it said case approved and approval notice sent. However when I check online case status now I see following,
Application Type: I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER
Current Status: Cable sent to American Consulate or port of entry notifying them of approval.
On September 7, 2001, the appropriate American Consulate or port of entry was notified of the approval of this case. Please contact them directly if you need more information.
4 - In 2002 transferred my H1 to new company and got the approval with new I-94 card without any issues.
5- In 2004 transferred my H1 to another company without any issues and I�m with that company since then. They filed my labor, I-140 which has been approved and now ready to file I-485. Lawyer of this company wants to attach the approval notice of my first H1 from 2000 with I-94 card attached to it showing proof of my change of status which i don't have. 6- I also left the country in 2006 and went to Canada for two weeks and then came back in the same month without any issues.
Current lawyer is fling I-485 without my first approval notice from 2000. Do you think this would cause issues or generate RFE for I-485? I heard that once you leave the country and re-enter legally all previous status issues if any are put to rest, I left the country in July 2006 and re-enter in the same month?

Does IV has a plan to contact some of the biggies directly and if so, it would be good if IV provided a list of the same here so that duplication doesnt occur. << Please do understand that this is a worst case scenario and I'm prepared for folks jumping on me and providing examples of various efforts where hardly a few did something without recognizing the worst case scenario part - but thats a risk I'm fine with :-) >>

We completed our finger printing today ( Nov 28,2007). Even though our appointment was scheduled on Dec 01, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Newark NJ, fort worth ASC didn't have any issue in taking our finger prints except for the timing. We made sure that we appeared for FP at 1:00 PM.

Right after getting greencard if you change your job and someone complains you can be in a lot of trouble. E.G. they can cancel your greencard and bar you from the US for 10 years on the basis of fraud. Now if no one complains and nothing USCIS doesn't know its a different story. I have seen people do that and gotten away with it until they reach their citizenship step. In one of the forms you have to mention all your jobs you have held for the past 5 years now if your petitioning company isn't there alot of questions can be raised.
To avoid all this trouble stick with the guy for couple of more moths and you will be in much better shape. my two cents

No doubt about it! This is very nice to have lawer for all our concerns .
I'll also contribute on this one .
I also recomend to have our own CPA who will work along with our lawer
for any kind of issues like opening LLC/Tax, AC21 ATP showings etc..
IMPORTANT: I'd strongly like to add here one thing: I lost 3 years of time got hurt after employer cheated by tieup with the lawer and lawer wrongly filled (options selected wrongly when fill) for all LC/I140 other docs. to get intentionally deniel/RFs to keep employee etc..
If we have our own lawer who can take care of this kind of things and resolve this kind of issues will helps a lot.
