Hi, yes, I can start work, but problem is I can't start work for a different reason. I wont be having medical license issued to me until 1-2 month after finishing my current job ( residency ).. and without license, I can't start the new job..! that is the reason, I will be unemployed ( having gap in between jobs ) for 1-2 months. any solution to that? is it valid?

Its scary. I thought SAP consultants are just above water. That's a huge number....Just one person knowing 100 guys in SAP each with 7+ years sitting on bench! What is the source of this info? Is that from any networking site or from your company? We had two SAP consultants who were rolled off but they were able to find projects elsewhere.
Disclaimer: I'm working on SAP Platform as a full time employee of a company supporting in-house SAP implementation.

I had similar case in one of my friends.. he just got GC and was very worried abt query during the I485 stage.. So if you have correct and valid I94.. you should be okay..

All the folks who are in NYC/NJ/CT who can make it, please make it to the McCain seminar. He is a very important player in this immigration debate because
1) He is from AZ, the state facing a deluge of illegal immigrants
2) He is a powerful and senior Senator and has bipartisan support
3) He has introduced a bill (McCain/Kennedy bill) which has pro-immigrant legislation
4) He is a potential candidate for Presidency in 2008
This is probably the only chance we have to pass on our issues/agenda to his staff/him

If your I140 is approved you can retain the priority date on a new I140 application

As far as I remember, you are right. But as GCKaMaara mentioned, time is different. See AC21 denial forums. Those type of cases were never heard when UnitedNations got his GC.

My story is different. My original 140 is approved, and Amendment is filed concurrent on 07/02/07 with 485 (by Acquired Company), AND my PD is current during August. Filed at NSC, moved to TSC : RD 07/02/07 and ND 08/30/07. PD 10/05 EB2.
Not sure, how this would impact 485 processing. I am really screwed up in this Amendment for NO faut of mine.
Any comments / help from Seniors.

Answer to your question depends on the interpretation of law. Assuming you got 3 year extension with current employer and then change employer because of layoff or any other reason, will you get remaining 3 years from your H1B or nothing since underlying I-140 is no longer valid.
I am trying to find the answer to this very question. If your extension once granted is not dependent on I-140 for next 3 years then situation is not too bad, but if it does then it is every bit as grim as you have mentioned.
I am yet to get any conclusive answer to this one.

It was her husband's wish that her daughter study in US.
Although she would love to follow his wishes, she does not want to do anything illegal and wants to return only if everything is valid.
